The long-awaited Alfa Romeo SUV finally comes out at the Los Angeles Show. It is the first SUV in the history of the Italian brand, and so they decided to introduce it in its most powerful version Quadrifoglio Verde (QV), which shares the 510 hp V6 engine with Giulia. The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio is based on the same architecture used by Giulia, a model with which it will share not only its mechanical base, but also numerous exterior and interior elements. It will use the DNA system of Alfa Romeo, which allows you to select between Natural, Dynamic and Advanced EFficiency driving modes, in addition to the Race, which is only associated with Stelvio QV.In terms of design, it is perceived that the Giulia has had a great influence on its exterior appearance, with a front that shares with the sedan the slim and stylized headlights, the large grille, the aggressively shaped bumper and the large air intakes. In the rear there is something similar, since the lanterns have a format very similar to those of the Giulia, as well as the four exhaust outlets that are also found in the sedan. In the interior the points in common are also evident, although in the case of the Stelvio, add some details that are specific. The infotainment system features an 8.8-inch touchscreen, while a high fidelity sound system signed by Harman Kardon with 14 loudspeakers distributed throughout the cabin is also available. Regarding driving aids, adaptive cruise control, track maintenance, blind spot alert, assisted parking, etc. will be part of the equipment. The Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Verde will be the most powerful and highest performing. It uses the 2.9-liter bi-turbo V6 engine that produces 505 hp of power and 600 Nm of torque, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 284 km / h.In addition, the Stelvio QV features a four-wheel drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission with double clutch, which is able to shift gears in only 100 milliseconds. The simpler versions of the Stelvio will use a turbocharged 2.0-liter 2.0-liter engine with 280 hp, which will also be associated with a full-traction system and the eight-speed automatic transmission. The new Alfa Romeo Stelvio will reach the dealerships of the brand in 2017, the United States being the first market to receive it, where it will be available during the first half. For the other markets there is still no release date, but will certainly be present at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
2017 – ALFA ROMEO 6C FLY DISC
The Alfa Romeo 6C Disco Steering Wheel was created by Alex Imnadze. It is a two-door model and was designed to be a top-of-the-line hype of the Italian brand. The Georgian designer, who has worked for Alfa Romeo between 2013 and 2015, sought to reinterpret the model also known as 1900 C52 – derived from the 1900 – vehicle that the Italian brand manufactured in 1952.Designed by Carrozzeria Touring Milano, the 1900 C52 came from a complete aerodynamic study developed to support the inline four-cylinder engine of the 1900 set to reach 156 hp.Designed for the competition, the brand produced five units, the last two with a 3.5-liter engine (derived from the 6C) and with 227 horsepower, but without great success despite the maximum speed of 240 km / h. Currently only one of the 3.5-liter units still resists the passage of time at the Carlo Biscaretti di Ruffia Museum in Turin, Italy.
2017 – ALFA ROMEO GIULIA MILANO EDITION
It took only 33 seconds for FCA to sell the first 350 Alfa Romeo Giulia units in China. The Italian brand achieved an excellent acceptance of the sedan in that market, as customers exhausted the first units available in just over half a minute. The sale of these 350 units of the Alfa Romeo Giulia ‘Milano’ was achieved through the portal Alibaba, although this is not a new method for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, since with this same method managed to sell 100 units of the Maserati Levante in only 18 seconds . This strategic alliance makes Alibaba the only official channel for the group’s online sales in the Chinese market. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Milano uses the turbo 2.0i engine with 280 hp in combination with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The equipment includes a sound system signed by Harman Kardon with integrated navigation, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, etc. In addition, this special series includes a numbered nameplate.
China is already the world’s largest auto market and projections indicate that it will become the leading luxury vehicle market by 2020 and brands will increasingly rely on ‘on-line’ sales strategies to reach the richest consumers and the same reduce dependence on conventional dealers.
